My Christmas Card box? My Christmas card? My Pretty Christmas box? Whatever it is..its finally done! Since my mojo was gone...I was doing a lot of blog hopping, trying to find something to do. I ran across this box at Kirstens Blog, and thought I would try it. I couldn't understand the directions, working in 16th's, so I adapted it my way. Even had to put out a distress call to Diana Crick!
The box is 6x6 and the top and bottom are cut out of a piece of thin cardboard. I then covered them in DP and ran my TH distressed ink around the edges. Then I made the "sleeves". This is where I ran into trouble with measurements. They are 1/15th off! LOL But after they were scored and taped together, went on to make the "drawers". Once the sleeve and drawers were made, I aligned them so each drawer front would show on 4 sides. Then I used regular scotch tape to tape the tops together so they wouldn't move, flipped them over and did the same on the other side. Glued the whole top and sat it on the 6x6 cardboard. Dried, flipped and repeat!
Then I made my card...5.5x5.5. I used a SU set that I have had for years and still one of my favorites. Ahhh, can't remember the name of it! I colored with my Prisma's and googone. The flowers were punched with my SU & MS punches. Leaves are punched from MS and EK.
I used my Sizzix corner dies for the two corners and added some small pearls to the top one.
On the inside I used my circle nesties and the sentiment is from TAC. Ribbons, buttons, floss, from my stash. Then I taped the card to the top of the box.
I didn't have any little knobs for my drawers so made some. Got out the beads from my beading days and made little pulls, work like a charm.
Thanks for stopping by, hope everyone has a great day.
